The Espionage Probe is the only espionage spacecraft. This ship is very likely to be destroyed in any conflicts. Their cargo can only be used to store fuel. They are extremely fast and have incredible range.
Espionage Probes are used to spy on an enemy planet, reporting on fleets, buildings, technology levels, resources, and Weapons/Shields/Armor (WSA) levels. Probes will transmit their reports even if they are destroyed; larger numbers of probes can overcome an enemy’s high Espionage Technology level to reveal all information about their planet. Defenses do not have Rapid-Fire against probes, so probes can be used as fodder if no enemy fleet is present. They are the fastest ship in the game.
Every other ship in the game has Rapid-Fire against probes; they are easily destroyed and have no attack value other than fodder.
