Your Planets

As a new player, your planet is created and placed in the universe at random. It is given a default name, which you can change. You can also move your planets or destroy them (your home planet cannot be destroyed). To do this, select your planet in the Overview screen, and tap on the NAME of the planet, which initially is “Colony”. This will take you to the Planet Profile screen; from here, you can enter a new planet name, as well as move your planet or destroy (“Abandon”) it.

Renaming your Planet

Type the new name in the “Rename” box and tap “Rename Planet”. Certain limitations may apply to length of name, spaces, special characters, etc. Do not use potentially offensive names or you will be asked to change them

Rules for moving a planet

  • A planet move requires an in-game purchase of Dark Matter.
  • Planets can be moved to a similar location in a new solar system: System (slots) 1-3 planets can only be moved into slots 1-3; slot 4-12 planets can only be moved to slots 4-12; slots 13-15 can only move to slot 13-15.
  • Planets can be moved only to an empty slot (no planet already there).
  • Planets can be moved only if there are no building, research, or fleet movement in progress involving the planet (or it’s moon). Planets cannot be moved if they have a Debris Field.
  • When moving a planet, both the planet and moon will be moved.
  • Ships on the planet and moon will travel to the new location (without deuterium costs).
  • Once moved, most fleet movement is prohibited from the planet or its moon for a period of 24 hours. Any ships that were on the planet or moon when it was moved will remain there for the duration of the 24-hour period. However, certain non-hostile actions, such as recycling or transport, can be undertaken.
  • A Jump Gate on the moon deactivates for 24 hours after the move for outbound jumps, but inbound jumps from another moon are permitted.
  • Any ships sent to the planet (or moon) during this 24 hours will not be allowed to leave until it expires.
  • You can only move a planet once every 14 days.

Destroying your Planet

In the Planet Profile screen, tap “Abandon Colony”.
